These days, the fast pace of life can often make romantic spontaneity seem impossible. On top of that, times are tough. Most people don’t have a ton of extra cash to spare on plans to revive that romantic flare. Fear not, this article has the answer. Here you’ll be given 5 simple romantic ideas for couples that are sure ignite an evening of intimacy.

1. The Candlelit Bubble Bath

This works best when your lover is coming home from a hard day at work. Get an idea of when they’ll be walking through the door and have a hot bath already drawn for them, filled to the brim with delightful bubbles.

Illuminate the bathroom with subtle scented candles. Vanilla works well as it’s a natural aphrodisiac. If you really want to go the extra mile, you can decorate the tub or bathroom with flower pedals.

Make sure you’ve got plenty of comfy towels around for when your mate dries off or steps out of the tub. If you can place one behind the headrest of the tub, it’s even better.

I know not everyone has a tub that can fit two. However, if yours does in fact allow for both of you, make sure you slide right in and indulge alongside your partner. Don’t worry, if the tub will only fit one. Just because you’re not taking the bath with your lover, doesn’t mean the gesture isn’t romantic. Plus, once they get out of the bath tub, they’ll be eager to return the favor.

2. The Full Body Massage

Who doesn’t love a relaxing rubdown? Your partner will enthusiastically strip down to their bare bottom the moment they know what they’re in store for.

Pull back the sheets of your bed before hand, so your partner can lay comfortable on the bottom sheet. If you want to use massage oils, you certainly can, but by all means – it’s not required.

Get creative with your massage. Try soft music in the background. Tantalize your lover with rose pedals and soft kisses. Remember, this is taking place in your home, so there’s no proper etiquette that forbids a good old fashioned happy ending – go for it.

3. Chocolate Chip Cookies … or something sweet

Although the title of this romantic idea doesn’t exactly scream sex, it certainly delivers. Besides chocolate being an aphrodisiac, making a sweet treat for your loved one (cookies are easily interchangeable) is a fast way into their good graces.

As with most of these ideas, the element of surprise will take this idea to the next level. Bake cookies on the sly and pack them in your partner’s lunch for work. You can also bring them out as a surprise dessert after dinner. This romantic gesture is not only thoughtful, it’s also deliciously gratifying.

4. The Hallmark Card for No Reason

You’ve probably already heard the advice that flowers are best given at times when there’s no special occasion at hand. Sure, it’s expected to get your mate flowers on their birthday, anniversary or Valentine’s Day – but what about a random Wednesday evening when they have no idea it’s coming.

I love giving flowers for no reason. It’s like the “sneak attack” of romantic gestures. That said, giving your partner a Hallmark card for no reason is even BETTER.

Now, there’s an art to writing a good card. You don’t have to be cliché or sappy. It doesn’t involve writing some kind of long-winded poem. You can do that stuff if you like, but by no means is it obligatory to writing a romantic card.

The best cards are written from the heart.

Take a moment to make a list of all the things you’re grateful for in your relationship. It could be as simple as the way your partner makes you laugh or the way they scratch your back.

Leave the card somewhere your mate will find it. Let them open it on their own. A heartfelt card is always a romantic homerun.

5. Sexy Pajamas

Just to clarify, this is NOT the same as buying lingerie. Yes, sexy lingerie is a super awesome romantic idea and it will totally please your partner. However, sexy pajamas are even sweeter and here’s why…

If your partner is like many, on the weekends when you’re just lounging around they want to be comfortable. This usually involves sweats, maybe a tee shirt or something that’s easy to throw on.

Buy your lover sexy sweats from Victoria’s Secret or any other store that carries them. Sexy sweats include anything made of thin, cotton that clings in all the right places.

It’s a subtle way to have your lover dressing sexy and will subconsciously put them in the mood, even when they’re lounging around.
