Music Popularity Statistics
Is the techno/rave music and scene growing globally?
I’m wondering if techno branches of music and the raves along with them are increasing in popularity on a global scale. Or if not globally, where it is dying and where it is growing. Statistics would be the best but word of mouth works too. Thanks 
It’s definitely growing! If you look at the movement, it is less and less underground and people start understanding that all the cliches about it (drugs, rapes…) are actually not always true and that not all ravers are junkies.
The electro music scene is growing a lot and I think that it is helping the movement. On top of that you will find less and less illegal raves and clubs start to accept hosting raves.
Hopefully the movement will keep on growing without becoming over popular (in the sense “mainstream”) so we can keep the real spirit of raves.
I don’t know if you can find any statistics on that given the fact that it used to be totally underground.
