Music Notation Book
I want to become a composer i can play by ear but i do not know how to write sheet music help me?
I play violin and piano and i can play any music by hearing it but i do not know how to write and read sheet music and i do not know about music theory
I want to master the rules governing classical music it’s theory,notation and so on
I want to master the theory part so that i can start writing music
Where can I find free books concerning music theory on the internet which would help me to accomplish to understand the theory part
For a lot of kinds of music it is crucial that you understand western music theory. However, you may have noticed that most kinds of classical music no longer follow the rules of what most people consider classical music. 20th and 21st classical composers such as Webern or Adams write in styles such as serialism and minimalism which more often have to do with math than traditional harmony. More recently computer music has become the new trend and, in my opinion, will be the new wave of classical music. This is exciting for you because computer music would allow you to hear your music performed instantly and to be recorded easily. Computer music follows its own form of theory but because of its newness, the rules are pliant and you can feel free to experiment and express whatever you hear in your head. To learn western theory at this point would be helpful in your appreciation of older styles but you might find more instant gratification in pursuing composition of computer music. I urge you to listen to some music of this style. I would recommend the album Point by Cornelius. I hope this helps.
