What are the best Christian rock/pop songs by non-christian bands?
I’m trying to compile a list of Christian themed music by bands that do not normally do christian music, or do it only rarely, but are popular for their secular songs.
Billy Corgan, for instance, adapted hymns when he was in Zwan for the Mary Star of the Sea album. Neko Case sings the song “John saw that number” a religious song, though it is not one of her “hits.”
I’m looking for chrisitan music from secular bands. Exclude Newsboys, Jars of Clay, P.O.D. and bands like that.
I don’t know if they’re a christian band or not… But check out “Amazing Because it is” by The Almost. It’s very nice.
The only other one I can think of now is “God Gave Rock n’ Roll to You”, by Kiss, though I wouldn’t really classify it as a Christian song.
